Since 1996, the Norton Younglove Community Center—affectionately known as “The Norton”—has served as a vibrant hub for neighbors of all ages. Originally established through the vision of Riverside County Supervisor Norton Younglove and now stewarded by Family Service Association, we’ve grown alongside the neighborhood we serve.

We envision a Highgrove where families are strong, connected, and supported—free from poverty, hunger, and health disparities. The Norton Younglove Community Center is committed to creating a thriving neighborhood where every individual, from infancy to older adulthood, has the opportunity to grow, belong, and lead a healthy, fulfilling life.

Our mission is to address the challenges of poverty, hunger, and health across every life stage. Through inclusive programs and resources, we strengthen families and uplift underserved communities—carrying forward the legacy of Norton Younglove and building a better tomorrow for all.

Supervisor Norton Younglove (left, in a black shirt and beige jacket) was a devoted public servant whose impact on Riverside County is woven into the very fabric of Highgrove. A fourth-generation Riverside resident, he championed infrastructure, safety, and community development during his 24 years as County Supervisor. His enduring vision—to create a space where families could gather, grow, and thrive—led to the founding of the community center that now bears his name.

In the second image, Younglove stands at the heart of this legacy—flanked by former Family Service Association CEO Dom Betro (left) and Supervisor Marion Ashley (right). This moment captures more than a celebration; it reflects a shared commitment to community empowerment. Today, The Norton carries that legacy forward through inclusive programs and heartfelt connection—welcoming everyone to be part of the next chapter.

Our full logo embodies everything the Norton Younglove Community Center stands for: unity, growth, and a safe space for every family. This is where local history meets bold progress. “Where Family Strength is Community Strength” isn’t just our tagline—it’s our truth.

Highgrove was once orange grove country, and that legacy still blossoms today. This version spotlights the iconic citrus tree—a symbol of nourishment, hard work, and deeply rooted community ties. We honor our agricultural history as we cultivate fresh opportunities for generations to come.

Surrounded by vibrant green, this image highlights the welcoming structure where laughter echoes, stories are shared, and programs empower. Like the leaves, our initiatives stretch wide to offer shade, support, and space for growth.

The family figures set against the movement of river water represent unity in motion. Just like the Santa Ana River that runs nearby, we adapt, connect, and carry one another forward—anchored in love, uplifted by our shared journey.
